Parade will start on 3rd Street at Normandie and will continue upto Vermont (Little Bngladesh Area) in Los Angeles, California, USA

Free Parking at Virgil School (1st Street x Vermont)

Free Admission to the Festival for both days

BUFLA Free Health Clinic and Health Fair

February 3, 2013, Sunday, Time 1 PM to 6 PM

Location: Shatto Recreation Center, 3191 West 4th Street, Los Angeles, CA 90020, USA

All Community members are cordially invited to attend and take advantage of this free Health clinic

Many organizations and services will be available including: Red Cross, BMNA, UMMA, SAATH, Mammograms, Blood pressure monitoring, Dental checkups, Dental Association, Asia Pacific, South Asian Network, Los Angeles Fire Department, CPR demonstration, Chiropractor on spinal alignment and massage therapy, Los Angeles Police Department cruiser for children, talks on health-insurance, "Obamacare," and how everything affects us. Many Bangladesh-American doctors will also be attending this Health-Clinic to help the community. and much more. Food stalls will also be available

We urge every member of our community to attend this very helpful and informative Health-care event. We are holding this Free Health Clinic/Health Seminar in honor of Ekushe February. We hope you all can make it. Thank you and have a blessed day.

Thank you letter from the President and General Secretary

Dear Honorable BUFLA EC/AC/BOT/Associate Members/Consul General and Bangladeshi American Community Members:

Salaam and warm Greetings to all of you.

Bangladesh Unity Federation of Los Angeles (BUFLA) new Cabinet is excited and overwhelmed to announce that BUFLA Inauguration Ceremony, held on July 1, 2012 at Beverly Garlad Hotel Ballroom of North Hollywood was one of the very successful programs in BUFLA history that we have seen. Those were some of the most memorable times for us, and wow -- what a crowd, what an incredible reception for the new cabinet, escorted by seven beautiful girls with music, so many flowers, delicious Food and family environment we had. Your enormous support and sincere participation in this event has made a tremendous contribution towards the success.

We do want to single out (without any hesitation) what we are thankful for. We are enormously grateful to all Interim Cabinet members, immediate past Cabinet members, respectable EC members, honorable BOT members, friends and family memebers and definitely new cabinet members also. We want you all to know that your time, your commitment, your positive attitude, your sacrifices and your strong leadership are very, very appreciated.

BUFLA’s exceptional appreciation goes to our Chief Guest Honorable Consulate General of The People’s Republic of Bangladesh in Los Angeles, Mr Enayet Hossain, Vice Consul, Sikdar Ashrafur Rahman, Commercial Consul, Mr. Moniruz Zaman Malik and their respectable staff for your attendance and important speech.

BUFLA appreciates Mr. Michael Downing, (Los Angeles Police Department) Deputy Chief of Counter Terrorism and Special Operations Bureau who was unable to attend due to unavoidable scheduling conflict, however supported BUFLA by sending his commanding officer, Mr. Michael Seguin, Counter Terrorism and Special Operations Bureau.

BUFLA appreciates and recognizes all media personals, especially Mr. Jahan Hasan, Mr. Moshoorul Huda, Mr. Niaz Muhaimin, Mr. Mudassir Hossain Babu, Mr. Bhorua, Mr Tuhin and all other media personnel.

BUFLA also appreciates all Cultural Artists and Performers for their wonderful performance.

Lastly, today is the 4^th of July, Independence Day. So we would like to show our respect, recognition and remembrance to all of our freedom fighters, veterans and active military – you and your predecessors have made celebrating the 4-th of July possible. We thank you – salute you – for your courage, for your service and also the most extreme sacrifices you and your family have made. “One of the greatest gifts to you is a simple thank you – it goes a long, long way.”
