General Body Meeting Agenda for

November 18, 2007

Dear Friends,

Salaam and Greetings to all of you.

You are all cordially invited to attend the next General Body Meeting of BUFLA, which will be held as per the following:

Date:               November 18, 2007, Sunday
Time:              2:00 PM  to 4:00 PM  (Please come on time)
Location: Shatto Recreation Center,  3191 W. 4^th Street, Los Angeles, CA 90020. (on 4th Street near Vermont).

The Bangladesh Day Celebration with Parade will be held in Los Angeles on March 30, 2008, Sunday, in order to celebrate the occasion of the Independence Day of Bangladesh. All Bangladeshi Organizations of the greater Los Angeles area and all the community members of greater Los Angeles area are cordially invited to participate in this Bangladesh Day celebration with Parade on March 30, 2008. The details of the information about the parade arrangements will be sent out to the community later on.

Also, (i) in view of the discussion in the last month's BUFLA meeting, and (ii) in view of some additional subsequent discussions, and also (iii) in view of the short time that is left before the Bangladesh Day parade, the BUFLA election is being delayed until after the parade on March 30, 2008. So, in this BUFLA general body meeting on Nov 18, the major focus will be on the preparation for the Bangladesh Day parade, as described in the Agenda given below.

AGENDA:

Item -1:  Introductions by all the attendees.

Item – 2:   Making of volunteer pool for the Parade:

(i)  Selecting one or two volunteers from each of the 39 Organizations who have already filled out the BUFLA membership form.

(ii)  All remaining organizations who have not filled out the BUFLA membership forms yet, are cordially invited to please do so, and to please participate in this preparation for the Bangladesh Day parade.

(iii)  Any community members, who are not EC members of any of the organizations but are interested to help and participate in the preparation for the parade, are welcome.

(iv) All BUFLA AC members will be the Advisors for the Parade for the time being.

Item – 3:   Identify the list of tasks and Committees for the Parade:

·        Venue and parade Route

·        Stage setup, booth setup, sound system, etc.

·        Booth collections

·        Inviting dignitaries

·        Coordinators

·        Program: (a) Parade, (b) Dignitaries, (c) Cultural Program

·        Fund raising

·        Brochure

·        Publicity

·        Miscellaneous: (a) Security, (b) Parking control, (c) First-aid (d) etc

Item – 4:  Assigning the volunteers from the volunteer pool, as per their interests and expertise, for all the Committees for the Parade, as mentioned in the item above.

Item – 5:  Any additional Miscellaneous items.

Item – 6:  Next meeting Date:  December 9, 2007, Sunday at 2 PM (Shatto)

Item – 7:  Close of the meeting.

Please plan to attend this General Body Meeting on November 18, 2007, Sunday, starting at 2 PM, at Shatto Recreation Center in LA.  Please come on time at 2 PM.
